Oversee the day-to-day technical operations of assigned tanker vessels.
Monitor and ensure the technical condition and performance of the fleet, including maintenance, repairs, dry docking, and surveys.
Conduct regular vessel inspections and audits; follow up on reports and implement corrective actions.
Liaise with Chief Engineers and shipboard staff to support vessel operations and provide technical guidance.
Plan and manage dry docking activities, including budget preparation, scope of work, yard selection, and execution.
Review and control vessel budgets, technical performance KPIs, and spare parts procurement.
Ensure vessels comply with statutory, class, flag, and company regulations, including MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM, and ISPS codes.
Coordinate with other departments including HSQE, Crewing, and Operations to ensure smooth and safe vessel operations.
Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis related to technical issues.
Support vetting inspections and ensure high performance in OCIMF/SIRE audits.
Maintain good communication and working relationships with clients, classification societies, and external vendors.
Class I Certificate of Competency (Chief Engineer Unlimited).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Chief Engineer on Tanker vessels (Crude/Product/Chemical).
Minimum of 3+ years of shore-based experience as Technical Superintendent in tanker fleet management.
Strong knowledge of tanker operations, technical systems, and international maritime regulations.
Experience with budgeting, reporting, and planning of dry-docking and maintenance schedules.
Familiarity with planned maintenance systems (PMS) and ERP tools (e.g., AMOS, ShipNet, Sertica).
Sound understanding of vetting processes (SIRE, RightShip) and oil major expectations.
