Summary of Position:                                                                                                                  

Primary function to ensure safe, smooth and efficient ship operations, assist in maintaining Oil Major Approval and TMSA for company.

Duties & Responsibilities                                                                      

  • Carry out shipboard audits as required.
  • Carry out shipboard staff appraisals of vessels visited.
  • Carry out Incident / near miss investigation as required.
  • Monitor cargo operations of their vessels. Carry out live cargo audits on board.
  • Guide the vessel’s Master on safe cargo planning and safe sea passage by carrying out pre voyage reviews with Master.
  • Assist the Marine department in Implementation of safe navigation practice on board ships.
  • Carry out live navigation audit and assessment for ships.
  • Assist in crewing activities and liaise with crewing agents. Ensure documentation and forms are up to date.
  • Monitor ballasting / de-ballasting including heavy weather ballasting operations of their vessels.
  • Attend vessels from time to time for purpose of carrying out shipboard inspections and / or for supervising tank cleaning, cargo operations or any other matters.
